This song is very much a love song for Nature.
It appeared one morning (Summer ’24) on my river walk with my dog. I had the realisation that it’s not me taking Bonny for a walk, it’s her taking me for a walk.
Having her in my life gets me out into Nature, into simplicity, into beauty and gives me a re-set every morning. I found myself singing the melody line to her as we walked our little familiar path towards the Lagan in Belfast. The other verses were added later.
